NBCC recognizes that Parents are children's first and most effective educators. As educators and caregivers we firmly believe that where parents have aspirations for their children and engage actively with them through conversation, reading and play it has a positive impact on their development and future education. In fact a strong home learning environment will give a child life long benefits.
The years before a child reaches Kindergarten are among the most critical in his or her life to influence learning. NBCC is committed to our youngest children’s need to prepare to succeed later in school and life. NBCC supports a seamless and comprehensive set of services and support for children, from birth through age 5 and into their school years. Because we are committed to helping all children succeed we operate through high standards across all our early learning programs. We continue to develop new programs to improve opportunities and outcomes, actively engage parents in their child's early learning and development, and continuously seek to improve the early education workforce.
NBCC works closely with all agencies committed to serving the needs of children and families. In Marin County we collaborate with Parent Services Project, the Early Childhood Mental Health Project (Jewish Family Services), Novato School Readiness (First Five), Marin Child Care Council, Easter Seals, MCOE, Matrix and others. In Sonoma County we are member of the Sonoma County Child Care Planning Council, the Sonoma County School Readiness Initiative (First Five and CAPS), Early Learning Institute, SCOE, and others.
