Our Pre-Kindergarten Program serves children ages 4.5 years – 5.5 years with a teacher to child ratio of 1:12.
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed to educate and support those children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year. Our staff teaches to all the expected California Kindergarten readiness standards. The developmentally appropriate curriculum includes math, counting, letter and number recognition, writing of alphabet letters, language activities to increase language acquisition and dramatic play.
Our additional focus is on promoting social interaction and further development of good listening skills, self-regulation, working cooperatively with others and learning to follow directions. Children are offered multiple opportunities through planned activities to explore pre-math, pre-reading, simple science concepts, and open-ended art projects.
During the year, the children’s development is assessed via the Desired Results/Desired Progress Assessment Tool (DRDP) and conferences are held with parents to advise them of their child’s developmental progress.
